This eclectic collection of dishes includes deep-fried frog legs with piri-piri sauce, grilled pig ears, grilled chicken livers, cheesy slow-cooked ox tripe, and escargot in a chardonnay-garlic sauce.

It’s not a typical American menu, but that’s because Vila Algarve is not an American restaurant—it’s authentically Portuguese, with all the Mediterranean and African influences associated with that style. The eatery first found success in Johannesburg, South Africa, and it arrived in Las Vegas in 2014. Beyond the adventurous starters, Portuguese specialties make up the bulk of the menu, including seafood, Mozambican curries, and trinchado, a traditional Portuguese dish consisting of red-wine-marinated beef, chicken, or pork in a creamy sauce with olives and pips.
