  • One Tap to Ride: Lyft/Uber uses your phone’s GPS to detect your location and connects with the nearest available driver. Get picked up anywhere – usually within minutes.
  • Reliable & On-Tme Pick-ups: When you request a ride, they’ll located a driver and let you track their location on the map. Your driver’s name, car details and ratings will appear in the app.

HOW TO RIDE-SHARE FROM LAS VEGAS MCCARRAN INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT:

ride-share-pickup
There are 2 ride-share pickup areas depending on if you’re in Terminal 1 or Terminal 3.

Pick-up from Terminal 1:
The ride-share area is located at the Parking Garage area located on level 2M.  Follow the signs to the parking garage.  If you’re lost, from Baggage Claim, take the elevator near door #2 up to level 2, then cross the pedestrian bridge on level 2 to the Terminal 1 Parking Garage.  From there, take the elevator up to level 2M.  Just continue on the walkway and follow the signs, and the pick up area will be on your left.

Pick-up from Terminal 3:
The ride-share area is on the valet level of the Parking Garage.  From Baggage Claim, take the elevator near door #52, #54 or #56 up to level 1, cross the pedestrian bridge on level 1 to the Terminal 3 Parking Garage.  From there, use the elevators or stairs to go down 1 floor to the Valet level.  From there, just follow the signs and the pick up area will just be across the road.

A few tips for your first ride:

  • Don’t arrange your Lyft/Uber pickup too early, sometimes the drivers are already there.  I suggest waiting until you get to the first set of elevators.
  • Many of these drivers are new, and it’s very confusing to drive around McCarran Airport so be patient in case they get lost.
  • You are getting a free or heavily discounted ride, and Las Vegas is a tipping city, a tip of $2-3 is always appreciated but not required.  However, you tip for Taxi’s, you should definitely tip for Ride-Shares!  Lyft allows tipping from the app if you decide you rather go that route.

HOW TO RIDE-SHARE FROM LAS VEGAS HOTELS:

Each Las Vegas hotel has their own designated Ride-Share pick up area.  Some are easy to spot and some are a little harder to find.  It will show you on the app where the pickup location is, but if unsure, ask hotel staff where the ride-share locations are to prevent any confusion and delay.

SO WHICH APP DO I USE TO SAVE THE MOST MONEY?

Each app gives you different promo codes.  The Lyft promo code FREEVEGASLYFT will give you $5 off each ride, up to 10 rides, and the Uber promo code UBERVEGAS30 will give you a flat $15 ride credit.  Since going from Las Vegas Airport to the Las Vegas Strip usually costs about $15-20, depending on where you’re staying, use Uber to and from the airport to save the most money.  While on the Las Vegas Strip, rides up and down usually cost $5-12, again depending on the locations, so using Lyft for this is the way to go, since you can use it multiple times.

ADVANCED MONEY-SAVING TIPS!

After downloading the apps, you get the ability to refer your friends and family.  Just click on the “Free Rides” on either app and you’ll see your own unique promo code.  If you’re traveling with other people, refer them with your unique code, and they will get the same credits mentioned above, and after they take their first ride, you will receive a free ride credit as well.  Lyft will give you a $25 credit and Uber will give you a $15 credit.

Hopefully, after reading this, Ride-Share actually makes sense to you.  If you do it properly, you should be able to save anywhere from $50-150+ on your transportation costs, and learn to appreciate what Lyft and Uber can deliver!  If there’s anything that needs clarification or if any questions, please comment and I’ll try to respond as soon as possible.

What to do if you get Long-Hauled in Las Vegas!

approximate-taxi-fares

Getting tunneled or long-hauled is one of the shadiest things done in Las Vegas. Cabbies prey on tourists and purposely take them to longer routes that will end up costing the customer anywhere from $5-10 more for the trip. Most of these trips originate from the airport, and they can either take you directly north through Paradise, like they’re supposed to, or they’ll take you south through a tunnel, and charge you more for the trip. This is ILLEGAL so don’t let them do it.

There are a few ways to avoid this.

1) Never ever say to go the fastest way. This is basically giving them permission to tunnel you.
2) Tell them you want to go the cheapest way. Cabbies know the routes inside-out, so they know what to do after you say this.
3) Just be completely direct, tell them no tunnel!

However, shit happens sometimes, and you can still get tunneled for one reason or another. If this happens, there are a few things you can do.

1) If you notice the long-haul, tell the driver you know what’s going on and that you’re going to only pay the fare you’re supposed to pay. You can check approximates rates here: Approximate Fare Information. Most of the time this is the end of it, but some of them will be ignorant one way or another.  If you want a more accurate number, use this Fare Estimator tool here.  It even tells you what route you should be taking.

2) If it escalates to this and he refuses the appropriate fare, wait till you get to your destination and then call the Nevada Taxi Authority at 702-668-4000. Or you can call in the cab if you wish. You will be asked a series of questions and if you’re willing to sign a complaint. Say yes. At this point, the driver will either relent or is pretty screwed, so 99.9% of the time, you’ll be done there. Just don’t tip the guy, he doesn’t deserve it.

Earn Free Las Vegas Buffets, Rooms & More with Social Rewards

social-rewards
With myVEGAS slowly depreciating their rewards, it’s time you learned about Caesars Entertainment Social Rewards.  This is a simple program where you use your social programs such as Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and others, and simply share or post to earn points.  These points translate to reward credits.  Essentially, 1000 points = 1000 Rewards Credits = $10 credit for Caesars properties!  This includes Caesars Palace, Paris, Planet Hollywood, the LINQ, and all the other Caesars properties you love and visit every trip!   You can use the credits for dining such as buffet, hotel rooms, the spa and more!   You basically treat it as cash, and the best part is, because you’re using comps, you save on the tax as well!  I currently have $516.80 worth of points!

Caesars Entertainment Social Rewards only takes 10 minutes to set up, and less than 10 minutes a week and you can earn unlimited FREE comps with Caesars Entertainment, not only in Las Vegas but anywhere else they have hotels such as Windsor and other cities.  Starting from February 2013, I already have earned over $800 worth of credits that can be used at any of their properties.  Although not as rewarding as before, you can still earn about $200-240 tax-free reward credits per year, per person!

Much like the myVEGAS Slots game, Caesars Social Rewards is based on social networking.  You’ll need Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and/or Google accounts to participate.  You only need 1 of the above, but the more you have, the faster you earn!

To save time, I do this while I’m auto-spinning on myVEGAS to earn twice the comps!  Also, since this is so easy to do, open up another browser and help your significant other do their shares at the same time!

Here’s the Step by Step Guide:

1) If you have a Total Rewards Card, proceed to step 2. If not, sign up now here http://www.totalrewards.com (Join Now on top right corner)

2) Sign up for Social Rewards (Register on top right corner)

3) Login to Social Rewards and connect your Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and Google accounts.  You don’t need them all,  but having more means you earn faster.

4) Now you can start earning points, which translate into rewards.  Navigate to each of the properties by clicking on the hotel icon starting from Bally’s.  Don’t forget, there’s one more when you click the arrow.

a) You get 3 shares per day, just go around clicking shares/likes/etc and starting answering questions and you’ll be accumulating points.

b) Everything counts as 1 share, with the exception of videos in the Tube Rewards section, as well as Google Likes, as well as the Connect Rewards so do these sections first!

c) When you are done one property, navigate to the next one and repeat until you are done.  Repeat the next calendar day!

5) When you have at least 1000 points (Total of all properties), you are able to redeem.  Just click on “Redeem”, and follow instructions.  I recommend redeeming Total Reward Credits, as you can use them in multiple places/properties.  Reward Credits are treated as cash so you may combine coupons with them as well.

TIPS

a) Watch the videos while you’re doing something else to save time or it ends up being quite tedious.

b) Although you are only allowed 1 account per person, if you have a partner/spouse/family member, you can do it for them at the same time too!  Just open up another browser!  Earn the comps twice as fast!

c) My favorite places to use the credits are for the Buffet of Buffets, Hash House a Go Go(combined with coupon) and Earl’s of Sandwich!

d) For a full list of places where you can use these credits, click here!

If you need help setting up Twitter, or have any questions or problems, we have a support group on Facebook here: Caesars Entertainment Social Rewards Guide

3. Absinthe at Caesars Las Vegas Resort & Casino

This is my all-time favorite show in Las Vegas!  The show its self has some amazing performances and ran by a hilarious duo that has great chemistry and comedic timing with each other, the Gazillionaire & Penny.  If there is really only one show you can see in Vegas, this is the one – it is worth it! From the balance act, green fairy, contortionist on the aerial hoops, the balloon girl, the polish gymnasts and more, everyone is amazing!  The venue isn’t terribly large, and acts are all performed in the middle of the tent, so everyone has a pretty good view.  I should say though, if you’re easily offended by language, nudity, sexual content, and stereotypical/inappropriate jokes, this show is not for you and definitely not for kids.    To give your Vegas trip that extra kick, you absolutely need to experience Absinthe as it is just wildly entertaining!  Bring your significant other and/or group of rowdy friends and arrive in time as they seat you within 10 mins of starting the show.  You’ve been warned though!

10. Boyz II Men at the Mirage Las Vegas Hotel & Casino

If you’re a 90’s R&B music fan, this show is a must see!  Boys II Men has still got it, even after all these years.  They know how to put on a great show, with their Motown moves and some humor in their performance.  Their whole concert is about 1.5 hours long at the Mirage and they sing most of their popular songs.  Marc Nelson from Az Yet is a pleasant addition for the a capella songs as well.  If you want a rose from them, get ready to walk down the stage area when they start singing, “I’ll Make Love To You.”  This is a concert where you are free to stand up and dance, talk to them, and even go up to them and give them a hug when they come off stage.  You can even use your camera during the show!  Also, for a decent price, you can get the VIP package which includes seats in the first 3 rows, a meet & greet, and a photo – worth every penny!

Las Vegas Top 10 Best Buffets of 2015

top-vegas-best-buffets

Heading to Las Vegas and trying to figure out which buffet to go to?  Here’s our Las Vegas top 10 best buffets of 2015!  For the list, we’ve considered everything from price, to quality and variety of food!  Which Las Vegas buffet is your favorite?

1. Bacchanal Buffet at Caesars Palace Las Vegas

After a $17 million renovation in 2012, Caesar’s Palace buffet soon set the standard for all other buffets after it.  The glamorous buffet inspired grand, Roman-style feasting, yet set in a chic interior.  Bacchanal has now celebrated its anniversary with even more dishes than ever, including varieties of seafood (hot & cold crab legs, ceviche, clams, oysters, shrimp, and so on), multiple seasonal cheeses, soups, and more than 100 pastries.  It even has small stations that let you design many of your own dishes!  If you don’t want to spend a bunch of money trying foreign cuisine you may not enjoy, Bacchanal has several dishes inspired by cultures all over the world you can experience without breaking the bank.  This by far, is one of the best buffets in Vegas to date.  Be aware, the lineups are insane for this buffet.  However, they have a kiosk that prints out a ticket with an entrance time so that instead of waiting in line, you can explore Las Vegas.

2. The Buffet at the Wynn Las Vegas

The Buffet at Wynn is a feast in every sense.  This is where you can enjoy variety of flavors from all over the world in one experience.  It has a wide variety of choices, for example, king crab legs, sushi, a carving station, and plenty of desserts.  Even vegetarians go crazy for this place!  Aside from all the food, your dining experience will surely be memorable here.  This seating area is beautiful, particularly in the garden/atrium where it includes fresh flowers, so it makes for a pleasant and aromatic dining experience.

Interested in The Buffet at the Wynn and Le Reve?  Get passes to The Buffet and Premium Le Reve combo at a discounted rate today!  Use promo code SAVE10 for an additional 10% OFF!

3. The Buffet at the Bellagio Las Vegas

The Buffet at the Bellagio is just plain fabulous!  You will be overwhelmed with both the choices of food and the excellence of its preparation.  The selections are awesome either for vegetarian or meat eaters.  There’s an excellent assortment of sushi, cones, and more for you lovers of Japanese food!  This place is a classic and has maintained an unbelievable level of upkeep.  Oh yeah, if you’re up early enough for breakfast and want a buffet, the Bellagio is a must!

4. The Buffet at Aria Resort & Casino

So much food, so much seafood, different multi culture cuisine.  If you decide to stop here for the buffet, make sure you go with an empty stomach and you will enjoy it for sure.  The price compared to most buffets in Vegas shouldn’t break your budget, with lunch starting at $23.99 and dinner at $39.99.  They also have an unlimited beverage option for bottomless mimosas, bloody mary, sangria, and spritzer wines for an additional $12.99.  If you are feeling adventurous and like to try new things, this may just be the buffet for you.

5. M Resort Studio B Buffet

Whatta buffet!  If this was on the Strip, it would definitely be ranked first or second.  It is about 15 minutes south of McCarron Airport off is I-15, but worth the drive if you want a very good buffet experience.  With over 200 items to choose from, it has just about everything you could think of to eat.  The carving stations feature beef and lamb and offers from Asian, Mediterranean, Italian, vegetarian, and seafood for days!  If you have time, or want to treat yourself to a great meal, the StudioB buffet is well worth it.  One of the “must do’s” when visiting Las Vegas.

top-vegas-best-buffets-desserts

6. Sterling Brunch Buffet at Bally’s Las Vegas

If this was cheaper, this would definitely top the list!  You can’t call yourself a true brunch lover until you’ve been to Sterling Brunch. A little pricier than other buffets around, but definitely worth the money.  At $85 a pop, come get your endless caviar, filet mignon, lobster tails, sashimi, made to order omelets, oysters and more. Oh, and don’t forget the bottomless Perrier-Jouet Sham-Pag-nuh (champagne).  Truly the brunch of a lifetime.  In a city known for stiff competition for Sunday Brunch, there isn’t one that comes close to Sterling Brunch.  Need I say more?  This one’s definitely worth trying, at least once.

7. Le Village Buffet at Paris Las Vegas

Great buffet for half the price of the Wynn and Bellagio buffets!  If you’re looking for a buffet on the strip that offers different experience in both food and presentation, definitely try the buffet at Paris.  The ambiance here sets Le Village apart from other contemporary buffets.  Besides offering the more traditional stuff you’ll see at every buffet, Le Village has French inspired food, (obviously).  For those of you with a sweet tooth, there’s a crepe station, but be forewarned, the crepe line can get pretty long.  If there’s an opening, it might be smart to grab one real quick!  Here’s a quick tip, make a reservation on OpenTable.com and skip the lineup!

8. Wicked Spoon Buffet at the Cosmopolitan Las Vegas

Sadly, this buffet has seen better days.  The quality has gone down a little bit, but still deserves a spot on our top 10 list.  This buffet has most of the things we’ve come to expect from a Vegas Buffet.  The options come endless with crab legs, mussels, oysters, chocolate heath bar covered strawberries, and gelato!  If you’re looking at a buffet where you don’t want to over indulge yourself, this may be your type of buffet as most food is served in individual serving dishes so it’s easy to have a nice portion without having the big troughs of food.  The main difference between the Wicked Spoon compared to other buffets.  They may not be the largest buffet in Vegas, but one of the best if you’re more into quality than quantity.  Definitely worth a visit!

9. Carnival World Buffet at Rio Las Vegas

One of the largest buffets in the world with the most variety you’ve ever seen, this buffet continues to be outstanding.  If you’re doing the 24 hour buffet pass or not, you should just have to go here!  Huge selection.  Many varieties.  They offer a large variety of food, including brisket, BBQ chicken, ribs, pho and a carving station that includes turkey, glazed ham, pot roast and so on.  If you decide to stop in, don’t forget to end with some gelato and cheesecake bites!

10. Cravings Buffet at Mirage Las Vegas

Very fun buffet!  If you use MyVegas, you may be able to snag a great deal on this as well for a 2 for 1 deal so it’s half the price.  The buffet also offers unlimited drinks, which is a plus.  Their amazing drink station with many, many selections comes with so many selections it would even suit the pickiest person.  Overall, this buffet may not be the fanciest, but it has a few stellar options!

Honorable Mentions: The Buffet of Buffets at Caesars Entertainment Las Vegas Resorts & Casinos

If you are looking for a great deal and have the time, the Buffet of Buffets is for you. This is a great option, if you feel like pigging out on buffets. It includes multiple buffets located in multiple hotels including Rio, Paris, Planet Hollywood, and other Caesar Entertainment hotels (be sure to use your Total Rewards to get a discount!). The trick is to squeeze in as many meals as possible within 24 hours. Though, the downside is that you may need to accommodate your activities around this, it is seriously the best deal in town for buffets.

Insider Tips
Waiting in Line: Buffet lines can get long so going early or late then the popular times is a way to reduce your wait. Las Vegas tends to be a late-night crowd so going early for brunch can often make a big difference. You can also try to get a line-pass to get in front as a comp if you gamble enough, or are a valued hotel guest. Finally, tipping the hostess has been known to get people in early 🙂

Saving Money: If you go towards the end of the lunch schedule, you can sometimes stay for dinner too and will just pay lunch prices for the more expensive dinner buffets (depends on hotel policy). Going midweek will get you the lowest buffet prices. In addition, you can find great deals (50 percent off or more) if you go to a breakfast buffet instead of dinner or lunch – of course, the selection will be more limited.
